We've just walked along the beach at Medmerry - as recommended in The Times last year (see directions below).
The beach feels very different to the West Wittering and Bracklesham beaches - much quieter and more isolated. There are strange and beautiful mud shapes on the beach and the old, unmaintained groynes show great weathering.
The walk is part of the coastal defence scheme at Medmerry which has involved the creation of a sea marshland which floods when the tide is very high, so protecting the houses at Selsey. The wetland is home to lots of seabirds so if you are a twitcher it's well worth a visit.
